At Observatory Pictures, we have several objectives for our business and how we advocate for ourselves and our work. Firstly, we pride ourselves on ambitious storytelling, and taking initiative where necessary to tell stories with diverse voices.

Even more importantly is our mission to our community. We are strong advocates for sustainability and environmental conservation. We believe in humanity and equality. And we believe in preserving local businesses and the free market.

This is relevant for a myriad of reasons.

​

For starters, the film and television industry is responsible for an abundance of carbon emissions. We recently self-funded a Sustainability Checklist to provide our community with the resources to take action against climate change and plastic pollution. We sponsored our first community clean-up with a local non-profit, where volunteers picked up 276 pounds of trash. We are working on organizing quarterly clean-ups at the neighborhood level and advocate for a cleaner San Diego.

Our organization is LGBTQIA+ owned and operated. We are strong advocates for the queer community. We pride ourselves on diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

We are also pledging to donate up to 10% of our yearly profits to various charities advocating for sustainability, climate action, LGBTQIA+ organizations, humanitarian organizations, non-profits, and more. We, both as an organization and a people, are responsible for each other. Change doesn't happen overnight, but by the means to do something differently, one person at a time.
